The Qatar Stock Exchange general index rose 11.41 points (0.11%) to 10,193 points at Thursday's open, driven by gains in insurance, banking, industrials, and real estate sectors. Early trading recorded 2,573 transactions worth QR 33.153 million involving 14.963 million shares.
Qatar's main equity benchmark opened with modest gains on Thursday, advancing by just over one-tenth of a percent as four sectors posted positive performance. Insurance led the gainers with a 1.21% increase, followed by banks and financial services at 0.23%, industrials at 0.22%, and real estate with a marginal 0.04% rise. Offsetting these advances were declines in telecommunications, transport, and consumer goods and services, which fell 0.02%, 0.08%, and 0.22% respectively. Trading activity in the first hours reflected moderate market participation, with nearly 2,600 transactions executed across 15 million shares, generating approximately QR 33 million in value.
