Egyptian Prime Minister, Qatari Diar Discuss Alam Al Roum Development Project

A high-level meeting between Egypt's Prime Minister and the leadership of Qatari Diar has advanced discussions on one of the region's largest coastal development initiatives. The Alam Al Roum project represents a significant investment partnership between the two entities, designed to transform a section of Egypt's Mediterranean coastline into a comprehensive urban and tourism destination.

The development encompasses diverse components intended to serve both residents and visitors year-round. Plans include educational institutions, medical facilities, residential zones, hotel accommodations, commercial spaces, and entertainment venues, all designed according to contemporary planning standards. The project aligns with Egypt's broader strategy to develop its coastal regions through modern urban communities that meet international development criteria.

Qatari Diar has committed to implementing the initiative using the highest international standards, partnering with leading global companies to ensure the creation of a fully integrated urban center. The project's scale is substantial, covering approximately 4,900 acres with direct Mediterranean access spanning 7.2 kilometers. With estimated total investments reaching around US$29.7 billion, the development positions itself among the largest urban and tourism projects on the Mediterranean coast, representing a major step in Egypt's north coast development strategy.
