‘Maximum use’: Iran boosts military strength during ceasefire with US

Iran's armed forces have accelerated military strengthening efforts during the current ceasefire, according to statements from senior military officials. Army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia told state television that the country has maximised the opportunity provided by a memorandum of understanding signed with the United States in June, focusing on integrating existing equipment, importing new systems, and repairing damaged infrastructure. The military has also deployed new-generation drones in combat operations, with specifications to be disclosed at a later date.

Iran's acting Defence Minister Majid Ebn-e Reza previously stated that missile and drone production has continued uninterrupted, with drone manufacturing reaching three times pre-war levels, though specific figures were not provided. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps spokesman Hossein Mohebbi reported that missile production increased during the ceasefire period, with improved accuracy based on battlefield experience. Military leadership emphasised that despite losses of senior commanders, the armed forces have maintained cohesion and demonstrated tactical capabilities.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration has signalled that negotiations regarding the Strait of Hormuz may be approaching conclusion, with the US President reiterating demands for a deal or what he characterised as "total surrender." Iran has indicated willingness to continue talks through mediators including Oman while simultaneously preparing for potential conflict resumption. US media reports from June suggested Iran retained approximately 70 percent of its pre-war missile stockpile and 40 percent of its drone arsenal, indicating capacity for sustained operations in the Strait of Hormuz region.
