Atletico Madrid has secured the services of South Korean midfielder Lee Kang-In from Paris Saint-Germain. The Spanish club announced the signing on Saturday, with the player committing to a contract extending through June 2031. While the exact transfer fee remains undisclosed, reports indicate the deal valued between 35 and 40 million euros.
Lee, 25, was born in Incheon and relocated to Spain at age 10 to join Valencia's youth academy. He went on to make 62 competitive appearances for Valencia before moving to Mallorca. In 2023, he joined PSG, where he accumulated 16 goals across 124 matches during his tenure with the French club.
At the recent World Cup, Lee featured in all three group-stage matches for South Korea, though the team did not advance from the group phase. His arrival at Atletico comes as the club seeks to address the creative gap left by Antoine Griezmann's departure to Major League Soccer. Atletico finished fourth in La Liga last season and reached the Copa del Rey final.
