Le Clos, now 34 years old, expressed emotional gratification at the milestone despite the bronze finish, stating that the achievement held significant personal meaning. His Commonwealth Games medal collection comprises seven gold medals, four silver medals, and eight bronze medals accumulated over five Games appearances since his debut in 2010 at New Delhi, where he collected five medals at age 18.
The swimmer remains active in the current Games, with entries in the 50-metre and 100-metre butterfly races still to come. Beyond his Commonwealth success, le Clos has compiled an impressive international record that includes four Olympic medals and 16 world titles, predominantly in butterfly events.
