Conor McGregor weighs in at 170.5lbs for UFC 329 bout vs Max Holloway

Conor McGregor has officially cleared the scales for his return to competitive mixed martial arts after an absence spanning nearly five years. The Irish fighter registered 170.5 pounds at Friday's weigh-ins ahead of his scheduled bout against Max Holloway, which will headline UFC 329 on Saturday evening in Las Vegas as part of International Fight Week activities.

McGregor's last competitive appearance came in July 2021 when he suffered a broken tibia during a fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Since that injury, the former featherweight and lightweight champion has faced various obstacles both inside and outside the sport. A previously scheduled return against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June 2024 was postponed due to a toe injury and never rescheduled.

At 37 years old with a professional record of 22 wins and 6 losses, McGregor is competing in the welterweight division as he seeks to reestablish himself as a title contender. His opponent, 34-year-old Max Holloway from Hawaii, weighed in at 170 pounds and is making his official welterweight debut. The two fighters previously met 13 years ago when McGregor defeated Holloway by unanimous decision on a UFC Fight Night card, and Holloway will attempt to even their series at one victory each.

Holloway brings an extensive background at both featherweight and lightweight divisions spanning more than a decade. The weigh-in period included typical pre-fight theatrics when McGregor removed Holloway's sunglasses and discarded them, an incident captured on video as the eyewear were Oakley Meta glasses equipped with recording capability.
