Israeli forces detain Palestinians during raid in occupied West Bank

Israeli military forces carried out operations in the Qalandiya refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, resulting in the detention of several Palestinians and the destruction of a carwash facility. The Quds News Network reported that soldiers distributed notices announcing a large-scale operation in the camp. During the raid, a journalist documenting events sustained severe injuries from Israeli soldiers, while a young Palestinian man was struck by an Israeli military vehicle; his current condition remains unknown. Video evidence showed Israeli soldiers forcibly restraining an unarmed Palestinian man at gunpoint. The military also prevented local mosques from conducting dawn prayers. According to Al Jazeera correspondent Nida Ibrahim reporting from the camp, the West Bank has experienced an average of 50 raids daily in recent weeks. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz recently instructed the military to expand control over additional refugee camps, replicating the military presence in Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams. Human Rights Watch has cautioned that such operations may constitute ethnic cleansing and war crimes. The raid included blocking multiple entrances to the camp with rocks. Rights organizations, including the Israeli group B'Tselem, have condemned the ongoing raids and deteriorating conditions, characterizing the situation as designed to render Palestinian territories uninhabitable.
