Israel kills Palestinian, destroys mosque in Gaza

Israeli military strikes across Gaza on Tuesday resulted in multiple casualties and significant infrastructure damage. According to reporting from Deir el-Balah, warplanes conducted a series of air operations targeting central and northern Gaza, including a strike on the Al-Muttaqin Mosque located near the YMCA building in Gaza City. Residents were given limited time to seek shelter before the strikes occurred. In a separate incident in the Nuseirat refugee camp, an Israeli strike on a crowded market killed one person and wounded at least 20 others, according to health officials cited in the reporting.

The military operations occurred amid ongoing tensions and a stated ceasefire arrangement that began in October. Israeli security officials approved measures related to an International Stabilization Force entry into Gaza as part of a US-brokered agreement.

Beyond Gaza, violence escalated in the occupied West Bank. Eight Palestinians evacuated their home in Abu Najim near Bethlehem after Israeli settlers set fire to the building, damaged a vehicle, and spray-painted walls, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent. This incident reflects a broader pattern of settler violence targeting Palestinian communities in residential and public areas.

Israeli authorities also expanded land confiscation efforts in the West Bank. Military orders seized approximately 200 dunums from towns in the Jenin governorate, with 14 of the orders designated for military road construction and expansion spanning over 11 kilometers. These roads are reported to serve newly approved colonial outposts, with confiscation concentrated in southern areas including Arrabeh, Qabatiya, and Misilya.
