Qatar strongly condemns Israeli settler attacks on Palestinian villages in the West Bank

Qatar has issued a formal condemnation of recent Israeli settler violence targeting Palestinian communities across the occupied West Bank. According to Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the attacks represent a systematic escalation of violence against Palestinians and constitute breaches of international law and established resolutions.

The violence has intensified across the West Bank, with Israeli settlers attacking multiple Palestinian villages in the Nablus governorate, including incidents involving property destruction. These attacks followed a shooting incident near the Havat Gilad settlement that resulted in casualties on both sides. In response, Israeli military forces conducted operations in Palestinian areas, including arrests and home raids.

Qatar's statement emphasized that the Israeli government bears responsibility for enabling settler violence through military and security force protection. The ministry called on Israel to meet its obligations under international and humanitarian law, cease settler attacks, and ensure accountability for those responsible.

According to Palestinian health authorities, at least 87 Palestinians have been killed by Israelis in the West Bank since the start of the year, with 21 attributed to settler violence. International observers, including UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, have characterized the attacks as systematic violence against civilians and called for international measures including arms embargoes.

Qatar reiterated its support for Palestinian statehood based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the capital, and urged the international community to take immediate action to protect Palestinians and ensure accountability.
