These criminal networks engage in systematic livestock rustling and abduction of residents for ransom purposes. Earlier in the month, authorities recovered dozens of students and teachers who had been held for 56 days following their abduction from three schools in southwestern Oyo State, with eight suspected kidnappers arrested during the operation.
