The full story

Multiple Israeli military strikes across the Gaza Strip have resulted in at least 14 Palestinian deaths, with the majority occurring in a single incident targeting a funeral gathering. According to Al-Awda Hospital, eight people were killed when an Israeli drone struck civilians assembled in the Al-Balata market area of Nuseirat refugee camp on Friday. Witnesses reported that mourners had gathered outside Ahmad Yassin Mosque to begin a funeral procession for a Palestinian killed in a separate attack earlier that day, when the drone struck the group.

Additional casualties were reported across multiple locations. A 52-year-old woman died in Beit Lahia when an Israeli drone dropped a bomb near Abu Tammam School. Separate strikes in Az-Zawayda, al-Sawarha, Gaza City, and southwest of Khan Younis resulted in further deaths and injuries, including children.

Despite a nominal ceasefire that took effect in October, Israeli military operations have continued on a regular basis. Research group Armed Conflict Location & Event Data (ACLED) reported that Israeli strikes on the enclave have increased since May, with more than 40 strikes recorded in the previous month—the highest monthly total since the ceasefire began. Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that 274 children have been killed since the ceasefire started, averaging approximately one child per day.
